Newspost: Alpha test period soft-launch

Welcome to Dopcom Creechers! Today is the beginning of the closed alpha period; anyone who is in my gamedev discord or a couple other discord servers owned by some friends of mine can join. There's still a ton of placeholder art assets, and the page layout isn't always perfect, but all the core functionality of the site is done. You can incubate eggs, raise pets and feed them, socialize with other pets, release full-grown pets into the wild, and collect essences to summon more eggs.

I'm excited to see where this goes! Please let me know what you think—what you like, what you don't like, what could be better, and of course anything that seems broken. I was hoping to get this out in early october so that people would already be well-established before the halloween event started, but life happened. Maybe we'll celebrate halloween in november this year.
