This lump gave me like 4 Wood element for releasing it (lmao), this is because the affinity it had didn't match the form the lump became. If your pet becomes a different variant than what you're expecting but you want to make sure you still get a good amount of Essence or Elements from releasing it, then try giving them stuff that matches the new form it took.
