What is Dopcom Creechers?
This is a virtual pet site/game, in the style of the mid-2000s. Players collect various resources that they can use to acquire eggs, then hatch those eggs into virtual pets. Once grown, the pets can be released into the wild to acquire more resources and thus more eggs, or can be kept. Pets can also be posted on users' personal websites or forum signatures, where other players can then click on them for a chance of generating resources for both players.
The original Dopcom Creechers were created by EpiglottalAxolotl in january of 2024. These were minimalistic virtual pets that grow from an egg to an adult creature over the course of a few weeks. Users were given a URL that they could use to view their Creecher or embed its image in a forum signature or personal website. These orignal Creechers are still available, but since then the website has pivoted to a more interactive, game-like experience.

How is the website supported?
Currently, there is no monetization of the website. It is, after all, in open beta. However, if the site becomes popular enough that revenue is needed to cover hosting costs, it is possible that this may change. Under no circumstances would there be any advertisements on the site except ones purchased by individual users of the site.
