Getting started
Upon creating an account, you wil receive 500 dopcoins, two Small Eggs, and one other egg of your choice, along with a few other useful items. You will also start with four rooms: one item storage room, one garden, and two pet rooms. Each room will have a randomly generated name.
It is recommended that you incubate two of your eggs immediately. The eggs will take a few days to hatch; after your pets hatch, you can feed them every day to make them grow faster and to increase their power potential. This power potential determines the total amount of affinities the pet can develop. There are various methods by which you can develop your pet's affinity to various Aspects once the pet's power potential increases, and these affinities determine what kinds of essences you will obtain if you release the pet into the wild once it is fully grown. Some pets also have a chance to produce certain items every day; you may wish to keep these pets around to collect these items rather than releasing them.
Growth and lifecycle
After the pet hatches from the egg, it will need to go through several forms before being full-grown. Every pet has a variety of forms it can grow into; this is partially randomized and partially determined by the pet's affinities and its previous form. Each time the pet grows to a new form, it will produce an amount of prima materia proportional to its total power, and it may produce other items as well. Some pet forms also have a chance to produce items every day, such as claws or fur.
Every species of pet has a daily growth rate that determines how many days it will spend in each form. Additionally, the quality of food that a pet eats will affect its growth, with higher-quality food usually making it grow faster.
Once a pet has attained its final form, it will still need to grow for a little longer before it is ready to release into the wild. When a pet is released into the wild, you will receive a large amount of essence, and the specific essences received will depend on the pet's affinities. Full-grown pets cannot increase their power cap any further, but you don't have to release them immediately; instead, you can continue giving them affinities until their total affinity reaches their power cap, or you can keep them around for items they may produce.
Food and cooking
To feed your pets, you will need food items. The main way of obtaining food items is to plant grain or other seeds in your garden; this will produce ingredient items that you can use in the Town Kitchens to make food. Any three ingredients can be combined to produce some sort of food, and higher-quality ingredients will result in better food. There are also some hidden recipes that will result in food items with nonstandard effects such as boosting affinity to a certain aspect.
Power and affinity
Every pet has a power cap, which determines how much affinity to various magical aspects the pet can gain. This cap increases a little bit every time a pet grows to a new form, but the main way to increase power cap is by feeding the pet every day. The power cap is equal to the sum of all the pet's affinities, plus the amount of unused (available) power the pet has left over.
The main way to increase your pet's affinity is to equip your pet with a charm. Charms can be crafted from various materials and are permanently attached to the pet once equipped. Most charms will give a fixed amount of affinity to the pet every day. Many foods also boost specific affinities, and there are various hidden factors that can slightly increase affinity to certain aspects.
To visualize the affinity your pet has to the aspects, you can equip your pet with a Clarity Charm. This will display a meter on the pet's page showing a rough estimate of what aspects the pet is aligned to. If you hover your mouse over the meter, you can see additional information. Blank space in the affinity meter represents unused power that is ready to be filled with affinity, and colorful "static" represents quantities of affinity to multiple aspects that are too small to display on the meter individually.
Interacting with pets
You can socialize with other pets every day, and other people can socialize with your pets. By default, socialization has a chance to give prima materia or gleaming essence to both players, and if the pet has a species or form that produces daily items, each player has a chance of receiving those items as well.
You can put toys in your pet's room that will trigger additional effects on socialization. For example, a fluff ball will cause a pet to gain a tiny bit more power every time someone socializes it. Other toys have effects such as increasing affinity to aspects or producing additional items.
By default, a user can socialize with three pets every day, and a pet can socialize with one user every day. However, there are effects that can increase both of these limitations.
Conjuration
Once you have collected enough essence items, you can go to the Conjuration Circle in the town square and spend these essences to get various other items. This is the primary source of two important resources: additional eggs to hatch into more pets, and Astral Bricks to construct new rooms to house them. Depending on the types of essence you put in, you may also receive other items such as crafting materials, toys that affect interactions with your pets, or decorative furniture items that will be displayed next to your pet. It is recommended that you try to put in at least 10 Prima Materia and at least 3 of some other type of essence for your first conjuration.
