ok so this isn't really me looking for help but i don't know where to ask this. why is there a limit on daily socializations for users? if it's just to limit the resources you get from socializing, i just don't really think anyone but the most dedicated or bored would bother getting that many socializations, every day. i already don't want to bother with the stuff cause i want to get the most stuff for my limited clicks and having to look for pets with enough items is one hell of a chore... basically i think there would already be a natural limit to how much time a user wants to spend on this?? what do you think

I also used to think that there would be a natural limit to how much time users would want to spend on Dopcom, but some people have surprised me. I already had to nerf some things because of certain people making their pets too powerful by feeding them thousands of times per day.

I think you can't increase a pet's power anymore when its growth bar is full, but the growth bar never fills up from food alone, so you can feed them thousands on the first day of their existence, and then it gets locked the next day. I've never personally tried this with literal thousands because I think it's really annoying to feed pets that way, but I have "overfed" pets by, like, five foods when the growth bar is nearly full just to see what would happen.

@thy ouh yeah i just did that with one of my pets that i just hatched for an experiment (wanted to see how much power a pet gets if you feed it pies+unfoods until the growth bar is full cause i was assuming it got locked immediately), and i stacked all my pans on it and then gave it a 4* creature food and it did appear to still gain power so um! that seems to still happen. i would vote for that being patched out tbh.

At one point, pet power didn't become locked until the next rollover after they reached maximum growth, but this was patched a few months ago after the aforementioned incident where someone overfed their pets so much that it broke large portions of the economy. However, pets don't know how much growth they need in order to be fully mature until they're in their final form (since different outcomes might have different growth times), so there's a loophole where you can overfeed a pet on the day it hatches. I'd like to patch out this loophole too, eventually.

I'm probably about to find out the answer soon enough, but how long does it take an egg to incubate, and am I supposed to do anything in the meantime?

@monstrousmoss It usually takes about two or three days. In the meantime, you can socialize with other people's pets, decorate your pet rooms, craft items and cook food, and generally explore the site.

I’m kind of confused at occasional messages I get between the main menu bar(or idk how it’s called) and the window which shows on which tab you are right now, because sometimes it goes “seems like someone is cooking” and I’m not sure what to do with them

@Larkspurring Those are random events! Usually they're just flavor text, but sometimes you get items from them, or sometimes they give you a little boost for the rest of the day (such as making summoning with a specific aspect better, or making certain items cheaper from the general store). You can see a list of any daily buffs that are active at the bottom of your user profile page.

@Arwen - usually the first week or two are the least exciting, in that you will not be spending more than maybe half an hour a day. Epi (the developer of the game), a few posts up, in reply to user monstrousmoss, said what you can do - decorate your pet rooms, craft items, cook food, generally explore the site. If you look through the user shops link, there are at least a few shops that are newbie friendly so that you can get some items either for cheap, or even for free.
