The Crypt of the Prismatic Leaf of Golden Serenity

DOOMVEGA's storeroom

Room description

I have too many ribbons, please take them.

When making necklaces, make sure you have:
1. Pliers. I use a three-in-one tool, which is round-nose, and does wire crimping and cutting.
2. Wire and jump rings. Stick to 18g or lower; higher gauges may not be compatible with all beads.
3. Chain and clasps. Match the chain to the wire, and make sure it's not oversized.
4. Beads. Stay away from plastic beads for a project like this. Use glass, clay, or natural stone instead.

To make a necklace:
1. Measure your desired necklace length. Using a necklace or beading board is helpful but ultimately optional. Ensure that, when wrapped around, the wire will sit comfortably around your neck.
2. Cut your wire. Do not crimp or fold the ends yet.
3. Start beading! There are no rules for beading; most necklaces have a "centerpiece" such as an eye-catching gem, stone, or charm, but this is optional. You may follow a pattern, make one up, or string beads at random.
4. When you come to the end of your wire, pinch one end with your pliers and rotate it to make a small loop; or eye. The beads should not be able to pass this loop. Do this on both ends of the necklace.
5. Place a jump ring on one end of the necklace by splitting the jump ring open with your pliers and looping it through the eye you just created.
6. Then, while the jump ring is still open, loop a clasp onto the jump ring and then close the jump ring. I typically use a lobster claw for this but there are many clasp options out there.
7. On the other end of the necklace, place a small amount of chain. Split the links in the chain just like opening the jump ring. This chain is used to extend the length of the necklace if needed.
8. When satisfied with the length of the chain, place a jump ring on the end of the chain for the clasp to hold on to. This step may vary depending on what kind of clasp you are using.
9. Use the clasp to close the necklace. You're done! Enjoy having your own piece of hand-made jewelry.
