Guide: Calendar and Holidays

The world of Dopcom uses a calendar where each year is divided into five seasons, each season lasts for 39 days, and the middle three days of each season are a celebration of a solstice. This calendar is not yet implemented in the site, but is planned to be soon. More information about the five seasons will be added to this section once this mechanic is live.

In addition to in-universe holidays, Dopcom Creechers celebrates two real-world holidays. These are April Fool's Day and Halloween. These holidays were chosen because they fit the site's aesthetics and culture, being whimsical and a little bit mischievous. Additional real-world holidays may be added in the future, but they would have to fit these criteria as well as being widely known and celebrated. (For example, Talk Like a Pirate Day was considered as a third holiday, but was rejected for being too close in the year to Halloween.)

April Fool's Day is celebrated during the first two weeks of april, and features the Mysterious Capsule Machine. Tokens can be collected from socializing with pets and exchanged for random prizes. Random events are also more common.

Halloween is celebrated during late october into early november, and features the Haunted Farmers' Market. Pumpkin seeds can be purchased and planted, and then the fully-grown pumpkins can be exchanged for a variety of useful and/or decorative items.
