Getting started
Upon creating an account, you wil receive 500 dopcoins, two Small Eggs, and one other egg of your choice, along with a few other useful items. You will also start with four rooms: one item storage room, one garden, and two pet rooms. Each room will have a randomly generated name.
It is recommended that you incubate two of your eggs immediately, so that you can hatch a pet as soon as possible. The eggs will take a few days to hatch; after your pets hatch, you can feed them every day to make them grow faster and to increase their power potential. This power potential determines the total amount of affinities the pet can develop. There are various methods by which you can develop your pet's affinity to various Aspects once the pet's power potential increases, and these affinities determine what kinds of essences you will obtain if you release the pet into the wild once it is fully grown.
After the pet hatches from the egg, it will need to go through several forms before being full-grown. Every pet has a variety of forms it can grow into; this is partially randomized and partially determined by the pet's affinities and its previous form. For more information about how pets grow, read the article on pet lifecycle.
Food and cooking
To feed your pets, you will need food items. The main way of obtaining food items is to plant grain or other seeds in your garden; this will produce ingredient items that you can use in the Town Kitchens to make food. Any three ingredients can be combined to produce some sort of food, and higher-quality ingredients will result in better food. There are also some hidden recipes that will result in food items with nonstandard effects such as boosting affinity to a certain aspect.
Interacting with pets
You can socialize with other pets every day, and other people can socialize with your pets. By default, socialization has a chance to give prima materia or gleaming essence to both players, and if the pet has a species or form that produces daily items, each player has a chance of receiving those items as well.
You can put toys in your pet's room that will trigger additional effects on socialization. For example, a fluff ball will cause a pet to gain a tiny bit more power every time someone socializes it. Other toys have effects such as increasing affinity to aspects or producing additional items. Most toys have a small chance of breaking each time they are used.
By default, a user can socialize with three pets every day, and a pet can socialize with one user every day as long as it has eaten. However, there are effects that can increase both of these limitations.
Conjuration
Once you have collected enough essence items, you can go to the Conjuration Circle in the town square and spend these essences to get various other items. This is the primary source of two important resources: additional eggs to hatch into more pets, and Astral Bricks to construct new rooms to house them. Depending on the types of essence you put in, you may also receive other items such as crafting materials, toys that affect interactions with your pets, or decorative furniture items that will be displayed next to your pet. It is recommended that you try to put in at least 10 Prima Materia and at least 3 of some other type of essence for your first conjuration.
